I Live in Texas, and My Vote Does Not Matter

August 12, 2008 – 12:17 pm

Texas will go for McCain and there’s nothing I can do about that here. I am certain that if every non-Republican in this state got out and voted against McCain, it still wouldn’t matter. The state would go red, McCain would get the electoral votes, and people like me would just go home feeling worthless.

I just hope that people in the “battleground” states do the right thing this fall. Just like I will if it becomes apparent that the balance here could, in fact, be tipped.

Fun Advice

The above link leads to an article entitled “How to Not be a Douchebag Tourist in NYC.” It’s a great read, especially if you a) live in New York City or b) live in a part of the country that would find all of this shocking. I am in category “b,” and can only giggle at how alien life in New York is in comparison to podunk, Texas.

I imagine most metropolitan areas are like this, but life in New York is certainly unique. DC is a bit like this, although the traffic in the city isn’t quite the same and half the city is designed specifically to keep tourists out of the residential/commercial districts.

The New iPhone App

July 22, 2008 – 5:38 pm

I’m writing this post from my phone, which is nothing new, except for that this time it’s via the new Wordpress App, which saves me the time spent logging in via the web.

Still no cut & paste, though, which pretty much renders blogging from the iPhone utterly useless.

My First Day

July 19, 2008 – 1:13 pm

Well I decided to take a quiz on my first full day of being a 30 year old white, American male, and the results made me feel much better.

Take the quiz yourself! I got a 91. Apparently I just need to follow the Dow a little more closely… I will now smugly end this post.
